A considered journey

Move through the moments, materials, and decisions that shape every detail.

THE BEGINNING

A Clear Point of View

Mendeleev Atelier started with a simple belief: that beauty and chemistry aren't opposites — they're partners. A candle is, after all, a small act of transformation — wax, wick, and flame becoming light, scent, and atmosphere. We wanted to honor that transformation with the same care a chemist brings to a formula, and the same eye an artist brings to a sculpture. Where Chemistry Becomes Art.

THE PROCESS

Made With Intention

Every piece begins as an idea before it becomes a mold. We study the real thing first — a strawberry's seeds, a tulip's curled petal, a baguette's crackled crust — before a single drop of soy wax is poured. Each candle and sachet is hand-poured or hand-arranged in small batches in Canada, using 100% natural soy wax and lead-free cotton wicks. Nothing is mass-produced. Nothing is rushed.

THE DETAILS

Small Details, Lasting Impact

It's in the details that our work reveals itself — the texture of a pomegranate's rind, the layered petals of a water lily, the single dried lavender bud placed just so. Because so much of what we make is finished by hand, no two pieces are ever quite identical. We see that not as a limitation, but as the whole point: each one is genuinely, quietly one of a kind.

TODAY AND BEYOND

Continuing the Journey

What started with a handful of sculptural candles has grown into a full atelier of everyday objects made extraordinary — botanical wax sachets, seasonal collections, and pieces still taking shape in our studio. We're just getting started, and we'd love for you to be part of what comes next. Explore the collection, and welcome to the atelier.
